Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment involving the structure and function of the body which has its roots in Ayurveda. There is more commonality between Osteopathy and Ayurveda than Osteopathy and modern medicine i.e. Allopathy. Both have a holistic approach that takes into account the patient's diet and lifestyle.
It is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together. For the body to work well, its structure must also work well.
Osteopaths use touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to restore the body to a state of balance and help the body’s own healing mechanism.
Patients seek treatment for a wide variety of conditions, including back pain, repetitive strain injury, changes to posture in pregnancy, postural problems caused by driving or work strain, the pain of arthritis and sports injury.
