Mantra for Massage

"Ayam me hasto Bhagawan
Ayam me bhagavattarah
Ayam me Visvabhesajah
Ayam Sivabhimarsanah"

My mind is blissful,
My hand is even more blissful,
Because it contains all healing values.
This hand's mere touch cures all diseases.

- Rig Veda

Thai Yoga Massage
Thai Yoga Massage

Thai Yoga massage originated in India and was brought to Thailand by an Ayurvedic practitioner, Dr Chevaka Komaraphat, some 2500 years ago, where it has evolved & developed into an ancient healing art.

Thai massage is based on "sen" energy channels, which run through the entire body. The technique combines acupressure, stretching, reflexology points and applied yoga. The practitioner uses their thumbs, palms, forearms, knees, elbows & soles of the feet. These techniques aid in the release of blockages to maintain & balance the flow of energy through the sen lines, whilst the practitioner takes the body & joints through a full range of movements and stretches. The bones & joints are never worked on directly as they are vulnerable and considered sacred in Thai massage. This is similar to the system of 'nadhis' found in Ayurvedic medicine and yoga.

Thai massage is also known as "passive yoga" as it requires no effort on the recipient’s part. The massage is applied whilst the recipient is fully clothed and takes place on a futon mat on the floor. It is recommended that the recipient wears comfortable, loose fitting clothes for this massage.
