This is a special treatment where warm penetrating medicated oil is positioned over the lower back with a herbal paste boundary for a period of time. A deep back and neck massage precedes the main therapy.
This treatment lasts for 1 hour and is good for many types of upper or lower back pain, tension or spasm. It also relieves pain in the sciatica and inter-vertebral disc prolapses, relieves numbness, and stimulates and nourishes the nerves.

This treatment can also be done over the chest in which is useful in asthma, cough, and congestion or in the neck region to reduce tension and strain.

Other Bastis

• the neck (Greeva Basti) to treat conditions like pain and stiffness in the neck, frozen shoulders and headaches
• the heart area (Hridaya basti) to strengthen heart functions and release deep-seated emotions
